 What is a Point Man? A point man is a person who leads or guides and inspires others in many diverse areas. It is a position that requires alertness and the ability to deal with unexpected challenges. Yet while leading the way the point man must always be aware of those who follow him. He must set the course and be there to help others along the way. Simply stated, a good leader is one who knows the way, goes the way and shows the way. Jesus is the perfect example of this concept. Hebrews 12:2 states "[Let us] fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of [our] faith..." The word 'author' literally means one that takes the lead and thus affords an example, a pioneer or trailblazer, or a predecessor. Therefore Jesus is our point man in all matters along our journey of faith. Men are being bombarded from all sides; the economy, pressures at work and home, and addictions of all types.
